King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub… and he won’t get out! A beautifully written book for children by Audrey Wood and illustrated by Don Wood, it had me pause to consider use of bathtubs- during the Renaissance about the time this story was written- and now. There was no plumbing then, how did the water get in the tub; how did the king himself get in the tub and why wouldn’t he get out? There’s much humor here while the king is lunching, doing battle, fishing and dancing in this oversized tub.
But in relation to ELDERSPACES, what do we do with our bathing time, with adequacy of plumbing, with getting in and out of bathtubs and showers? How does good design make a difference in how and where we bathe?
